Continuing Treatment

Acupuncture Sessions w/ Dr. Forster, DTCM, R.Ac – 1hr, $110 (Mon., Wed., Fri. 9:00am-5:00pm, Tues., Thurs., 10:00am-7:00pm)

Continuing treatment courses, frequency and intervals vary from person to person and depend on the nature of the health complication(s) for which one is seeking resolution.

Often it is recommended that if the health issues are severe in nature that a series of weekly 1-hour sessions are maintained, and can range from anywhere between 2-6 treatments (on average) before most complications will see significant improvement and/or resolution. Some treatment courses may take longer and others respond instantly to one session but often it is recommended that a person see’s either total resolution (or very close to it) before ‘backing off’ on the weekly approach.

Many of Dr. Forster’s patients who have achieved resolution in their health complications in the past have opted to maintain a ‘Preventative Course of Treatment’ in which continuing treatment outside of the ‘Acute Treatment Phase’ can vary anywhere between 2 weeks and 6 months in between sessions. Others choose this is their primary modality of healthcare and will come in for ‘Yearly Check-ups’ to make sure their health remains optimal. All options of Continuing Treatment will be discussed in detail once the individual is happy, educated and prepared to maintain their new health moving forward as our goal at The Samadhi Tree is - and always will be - to empower the individual in their lifelong pursuit of health and wellbeing!

Acute Injury Acupuncture (Sports Injury Focus) and Combination Therapy - Initial Assessment w/ Dr. Maryna Evans, R.Ac, DTCM - 75 mins - $110, Follow-Up Sessions - 45 mins - $85

The 75 minute session will focus on a detailed initial verbal and physical assessment and is perfect for a recent injury, surgery recovery and/or a quick and focused treatment for muscle tears, tendonitis, spinal accidents, etc. Patients' will be asked questions regarding past and current health history and a physical assessment may involve the therapist asking the patient to perform physical ranges of motion to identify the location of the injury. Depending on the condition, one or up to all four of the following therapies may be used in treatment:

  • Acupuncture: needles going into the skin/muscles/fascia to relieve any pain or neurological blockages. The stimulation caused by the needles balances energy flow, increases blood circulation, boost's the body's natural painkillers, reduces or relieves pain, improves the fucntion of the affected area(s) and encourage natural healing.
  • Electro-Acupuncture: a current attached to the acupuncture needle will achieve a stronger stimulation to further help reduce pain and relieve muscle tightness.
  • Glass-Cupping: cups placed on the body that create suction to achieve a myofascial release. Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds the muscles and organs. When injury occurs it not always affects muscles, joint and tendons but the fascia as well.
  • Massage Therapy: muscle manipulation used to relieve the body of tension and injury. This therapy may include frictions, trigger point release and/or stretching.

The acute 45-minute session will include a brief verbal and physical assessment paired with one or two of the above treatment modalities. This session is a great option for treatment of a specific injury or a follow up treatment.

Naturopathy/Homeopathy Follow-Ups - 60 mins -$140, 45 mins - $110, 30 mins - $85 (Mon. 4:00pm-7:00pm, Tues. 11:00am - 7:00pm, Thur. 11:00am-7:00pm, Fri. 9:00am-1:00pm)

Continuing treatment courses, frequency and intervals vary from person to person and depend on the nature of the health complication(s) for which one is seeking resolution.

In general, patients experiencing acute symptoms or a moderate number of health concerns are recommended to follow up more frequently (once every 2-4 weeks). The length of the visit is determined by how much information is needed to be discussed. Frequent visits at the beginning are valuable in order to ensure the root causes have been determined and that the treatment plan is effective. As the patient achieves greater health and wellbeing, one hour visits are recommended and can be spread out to occur once every 1-2 months. Since naturopathic medicine is considered a form of primary health care for many, and since prevention is a key component, patients often come in for an annual visit once their health concerns have been addressed.

Homeopathy has been used successfully worldwide for over 200 years. It involves using micro-doses from the plant, mineral and animal kingdoms to stimulate the body's self-healing abilities. Homeopathy is based on the principle "like cures like", which means that a substance that causes symptoms in a healthy person can be used to cure those symptoms in a 'sick' person.

Homeopathic practitioners recognise that symptoms of ill-health are expressions of disharmony within the whole person and that the whole person needs treatment, not just the isolated symptoms of a particular illness. Thus a practitioner will need to determine the full set of signs and symptoms experienced by the patient in order to carefully choose a homeopathic remedy that holds the most similar symptom picture; this remedy is known as similimum. Homeopathy thus benefits the mental, emotional and physical planes in a non-invasive, gentle, quick and safe way.

Homeopathic medicine can be used for acute as well as chronic conditions, as well as for preventative purposes. It is safe to use alongside conventional drugs and is safe for use on people of all ages, including pregnant women and children.

Intramuscular Injection Therapy

Massage Therapy - 1hr - $99, 1.5hr - $130 (Wed. and Thurs. 2:00pm-8:00pm, Fridays 11:00am-3:00pm, Saturdays and Sundays 10:00am-3:00pm)

Our amazing therapist Lana is diversified in multiple types of massage whether it be deep tissue, injury prevention and/or recovery, lymph drainage, prenatal, neurological disfunction or even just straight up relaxation massage. She specializes and puts most of her focus on a few specific techniques:

Deep Tissue

In this treatment the focus is to find the root of the underlying concern and get deep into the tissue that houses tension, restrictions, buildup of toxins and scar tissue and break it down thus increasing better/circulation flow of blood and nervous tissue, restoring nutrients back to the body.

Myofascial Release

This treatment works directly with the connective tissue, also known as Fascia. Fascia is a thin, but extremely strong elastic tissue that literally surrounds and wraps everything in our bodies from organs to muscles to individual cells. This Fascia can develop restrictions and micro-adhesions, directly affecting the underlying tissues it's encompassing. This type of massage is very beneficial for injuries, persistent trouble areas and postural imbalances. The results tend to be longer lasting.

Cupping Massage

Cupping therapy has been around for over 5000 years. It is commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine and by many therapists. It is a therapy in which glass or plastic cups are suctioned to the skins surface through negative pressure. Cupping drastically increases blood flow to muscles and skin and loosens adhesions in myofascial and muscle tissue. It also stimulates the lymphatic system which is the bodies defence mechanism, therefore generating an immune system boost. Absolutely anyone can benefit from this treatment but cupping is used to relieve pain and stiff muscles, reduce anxiety, fatigue, migraines and even sedate the nervous system.

Iridology - 75 mins (Initial Session) - $95, 1hr - $85 (Tues. 12:00pm-7:00pm, Wed. 4:00pm-8:00pm)

In general, a patients' first visit will be an in-depth overview of him or her general state, an introduction to how Iridology works and how the tool can be used.

Our incredibly talented Iridologist Sasha will focus on the root cause of symptoms and work her way out from the Iris to any branches of illness stemming from the root. She then recommends various natural therapies which can range from diet and supplemental advice, Reiki/energy work and/or Intuitive Counselling. Follow-ups will consist of reviewing any changes in the Iris, noted progress and discussion on any corresponding steps towards better health!

Patterns, colors and other characteristics of the Iris can be examined to determine information about a client's systemic health. Nerve fibers in the iris respond to changes in the tissues by manifesting a reflex physiology that corresponds to specific tissue changes and locations - this means that a bodily condition will translate a noticeable change in the appearance of the iris. Iridology is a wonderful non-invasive tool to gain insight on the bodies' integrity and to locate the root causes of dis-ease. Iridology will give a patient immaculate preventative knowledge for the future, incorporating ancestral history as well as a perspective on one's past and present health status.
